Asset Owners Council Objectives

The Asset Owners Council have set the following objectives for the Global PSSL:

• To build trust and transparency throughout the value chain. 
• To seek greater visibility over the purpose for which and by whom asset owners’ securities are being borrowed and any onward lending transactions.
• To understand and address misalignment and systemic risk embedded in the securities lending value chain. 
• To develop expectations on accountability, transparency and risk monitoring for banks and custodians to encourage stronger alignment with asset owner interests.

The Global PSSL Secretariat will work with the Asset Owners Council to help deliver on these objectives. Global PSSL will also encourage other councils to work towards these objectives via our new Active Briefing Culture.
